About 35 of us went to Stanthorpe, which was enjoying uncharacteristically warm winter weather. We played bridge, sampled the local wines & food, watched cricket & footie, and sang & danced (the latter with gusto).

It was a bit hot for log fires in our cabins, but just being in the country was a real treat. We were away from the city, the countryside was divine, and the wattle was out in all its glory. We lapped up the stillness and silence of the bush, punctuated only by the occasional bird cry (of the four legged variety of course!)

After the prize presentation on Saturday night, I arranged for a local music teacher to play the piano in the homestead, and for us to have a singalong. And we did…………..the pics will tell the story! (to be posted here soon).

Join me for my next bridge getaway – I’m planning a weekend to the gorgeous Langham Hotel in Melbourne in late November 2009, and a long weekend in the Margaret River region of Western Australia in May 2010.

Flyers will be posted here soon.
