My final bridge holiday for 2018 was at the beautiful Langham Hotel in Sydney - and what a marvellous week it was. The holiday was sold out, with people travelling from as far away as Western Australia and Tasmania.
The Langham is a magnificent five-star hotel, and has recently undergone extensive renovations. The result is elegant luxury. For five days and nights we had a lot of fun playing bridge in a room with a magnificent art collection from Sotheby’s - in fact all of the art in the hotel is memorable.
It was wonderful to see players of varying standards getting together from all states of Australia to discuss hands and play. I was thrilled that so many attended the lessons, asked questions and took notes!
All holiday guests received a copy of the Sydney Holiday workbook containing lesson notes, hands and quizzes for each of the 10 lessons that were offered. These workbooks have been offered exclusively to attendees at each holiday in 2018. The workbooks have been a popular addition to the holidays and will definitely be back next year!
I'm now putting together dates and plans for my 2019 holidays - keep an eye on my website for more details! The first holiday will be a Silver Sea cruise in February/March from Sydney to Bali. This cruise will consist of 14 days with plenty of time at sea for lessons and daily bridge games. Silver Sea presented a lovely picture of the cruise while we were at the Langham, complete with a glass of French bubbly. I am also planning to return to the Byron at Byron Resort in the first week of June, and the Langham Sydney again in September. I hope to see you there!
