Teach Defence 1

This third and final course in the Teach Foundations series shows how to help students communicate with a partner. The teacher will be able to demonstrate how to develop defensive tricks, even though the students can’t see each others’ cards! Demonstrating via Transitions how certain cards mean different things is the key. Teacher plans and resources are included.

“Thank you Joan! It was wonderful to be able to watch the beginner lessons unfold. I think as a group they would be the most difficult and challenging to teach. Looking forward to the next lessons.”

Mardi S

Learn from Australia's leading bridge teacher

Joan loves playing and teaching bridge. She has taught thousands of people, from beginners to experienced, in real life and online. She uses a clear, student-centred teaching method, and explains concepts simply and logically.

She has played bridge since her mid 20’s, owned and operated clubs for many years, and written a number of bridge books. She also trained teachers in bridge education. Joan has represented Australia, and is a current (2023) title holder of some national and state events.

The culmination of this experience led, five years ago, to the creation of her Online School of Bridge. This has proved to be the most exciting endeavour ever for Joan and her team.

Joan knows you never stop learning at bridge. “All the best along your bridge journey, and I hope you’ll have as much fun and stimulation playing this wonderful game as I have."
