Yes. You can log in to your account from your desktop computer or laptop, as well as mobile devices like your phone or tablet. However, this account can only be used by you. You must ensure that your password remains secure. For further information on using our website, please read our Terms and Conditions linked at the bottom of this page.
Firstly, check that you are trying to log in using the correct email address. If the email address you are entering is not recognised, please email us for assistance on the Contact us page, which can be found on the top menu of any page.
The second thing to check is that you are entering the correct password. If your password is incorrect, click the 'Forgot My Password' link at the bottom of the login screen and follow the prompts.
If you have forgotten which email address you have registered with, please use the form on the Contact Us page to provide us with your name. We will manually look for your registration. As this is not an automated process there may be a delay in locating your account.
The first thing to check is that you are not trying to access the website in private mode. To check that, open up Safari on your iPad or iPhone and then tap on the pages icon (the two overlapping squares in the top right-hand corner). If the word Private is highlighted with a white box, you are in private browsing mode. This means the browser will not save your log in details. Simply tap on the word Private to switch back to ordinary mode. You will notice the white box around the word private will disappear and a new set of pages will open - this means you are in ordinary mode. Once you are sure you’re in normal mode, the next thing to check is cookies are enabled. Go to the Settings app, find and tap on Safari. In the right-hand menu that will appear, find the Privacy & Security section and make sure the tab for Block All Cookies is turned off. You need to allow cookies in order for the website to function properly and remember your log in details. Finally, still in this section, tap on Advanced and ensure that JavaScript is turned on for Safari. This is how the game runs, so we need Javascript for it to work.
Click on 'Sign in' at the top, right-hand side of any page. Use your email and password to gain access to your student dashboard. Here, you can see your membership and any courses you have purchased.
You can reset your password at any time by following this process: Click on the 'Forgot My Password' link at the bottom of the sign-in page to reset your password. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password - please note that it may take 5-10 minutes to receive the email. You will be prompted to enter your email address. Then an email will be sent to you with a link to update your password. If you can't find this email, be sure to check your junk email folder. Click on the link in the email and create a new password. This password must be at least 8 characters long. The reset email link expires after a short time for security purposes. If you get distracted and don’t complete the process and the link expires, simply click on the reset password link again to receive a new email link. Please do not click the 'Forgot My Password' link more than once, as this will result in multiple emails being sent, and only the reset link in the most recent email will work. If you get an error that says 'Error: reset token failed', this is because you have clicked 'Forgot My Password' too many times and are attempting to use an old link. It can also happen if you click on a link that is over six hours old.
If you need further assistance, please use the form on the Contact Us page to provide us with your name, and we will manually reset the password for you.
With recent iOS updates, you may see an iPhone notification alerting you that your email or password login credentials for your student accounts on your Thinkific site were included in a data leak.
Please note that these notifications are not associated with a security breach specific to Thinkific. These notifications are triggered when Apple iOS finds passwords that have been included in a known data leak.
If you have reused a password from another site that experienced a security breach for your Thinkific account, you may see this warning for your Thinkific login credentials.
We suggest that you use a unique password for your account and do not share your login credentials. You can reset your password by clicking the 'Forgot My Password' link on the sign in page.
On the new site, there is a "Remember Me" option on the login page. By checking this box before logging in, you won't need to re-enter your credentials every time you visit. This should help make your experience smoother.
If you are constantly prompted to log in, there are a few things you need to check:
Ensure you have clicked 'Okay' on the cookies notice in the black pop-up box at the bottom left-hand side of the website.
Check if your browser is in private or incognito mode, as this mode will not remember your login details. Switch back to regular mode if necessary.
The game requires cookies to be enabled. If they are switched off, your login details may not be remembered.
If you use Ad Blocker or other software that blocks cookies, you need to save joanbuttsbridge.com as a trusted website.
Some members have had problems enabling third-party cookies on Apple devices. If you are constantly prompted to log in using Safari, try switching to another browser such as Chrome or Mozilla.

This could be a number of things - so here are several troubleshooting tips you can try.
First, try reloading the page. It can take a few seconds for the game screen to connect with your account and this may take longer if your internet connection is very slow or patchy.
The next thing to check is that you have cookies and javascript enabled for the browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Internet Explorer etc) that you are using to access joanbuttsbridge.com.
The third thing to check is that your browser isn’t in private or incognito mode. This mode doesn’t allow cookies, and we need cookies for our website to work.
Check that your virus protection/firewall is not blocking the website.
If your cookies are fully enabled and the site doesn’t work, the next thing to check is that your software is up to date.
If you haven’t turned your computer/device off and on again recently, try turning it completely off, leaving it for 10 seconds and then turning it on again. It’s amazing how many problems this can fix.
If this doesn’t work, you may want to try turning your modem off and back on again. This may fix internet connection problems that can stop you from playing games.
Try using another browser. If you are using Safari, try accessing the game from Chrome or Firefox instead. You will need to log in on that browser, but you may not experience the same problems.

Matchpointing is a comparison of how well you did on a particular hand with others who played the same hand.
And… it’s expressed as a percentage, based on the number of pairs you beat, rather than the actual amount by which you beat them.
You could receive a “top (100%)”, “average (50%)” or “bottom (0%)” or somewhere in between on each hand, and the computer calculates this for you.
Because It’s impossible to receive 100% on each hand (because a lot of people might score the same as you did), 50% is considered ok. At the end of the session, all your scores are expressed as a percentage.
In our Random Hands, each hand you play is expressed as a percentage compared with the other players who played the same hand.
1. Log in to your membership and click on your name on the top blue navigation
bar at the top of your screen.
2. Then click ‘My Account’.
At the bottom of your profile that appears, is the play transfers option. Click the
arrow underneath this section to select ‘Yes’ if you wish to play transfer, or ‘No’ if you wish to turn transfers off.
Using transfers during play is an option that intermediate and experienced skilled
players often enjoy.
Many people like to play transfers after partner opens 1NT or 2NT. The advantages
are that it allows the stronger hand to be declarer, but even more importantly,
transfers give you another round of the bidding so you can show your strength and
shape better.
More information about transfer is available on your dashboard.
